    I took my wife there for Mother's Day, and it was the first time I had eaten there. It is a cozy place with awesome food. That day they have a buffet, and there seemed to be an endless variety to choose from, and everything was wonderful. My wife has gone there on several occasions for lunch with friends, and adores the place. The place is nicely decorated, and the service is friendly and the cooks are very interested to find out if you enjoyed your visit. Probably one of Battle Creek's best kept secrets! A true winner if you are going there for lunch with a friend.

    Just ok... not fine dining price worthy. I agree with another review that its just missing something. Food was just ok. Server was annoying as hell. Been here maybe 4 times. Now that Milias is open no reason to go back.

    After 23 months in Battle Creek, I've finally found a great new lunch place. Cute restaurant, located below a flower shop, serving salads, sandwiches, and wraps. I love the atmosphere, casual, brightly lit, lots of colors. They also have a quiche of the day and soups, which I haven't tried. Sandwiches, salads and wraps are pretty good, with some interesting choices. I had the hawaiian chicken wrap with grilled chicken, sweet juicy pineapples, fresh greens, crunchy macadamia nuts, and a raspberry vinaigrette. Pretty good, especially for Battle Creek. The best part is the dessert- don't miss out on the peanut butter pie, served cold with a nice crunchy crust, with a good balance of sweet and salty.

    After years of hearing from a member of my family how much she "loves" Addington Hills, I finally was able to try dinner there recently. Please don't get me wrong, this is a good restaurant, but it seems to me to be missing that certain "something" that makes dining into an experience. First off- the decor struck me as something that you'd see at a Potbelly Sandwich Shop. It was well executed but seemed out of place for "fine dining". Perhaps it was just the "back room" that they seated us in? The "front" dining area looks much nicer. Our table also was very wobbly which servers tried to "fix" by putting wedges under the legs. Yes, in hindsight I should have asked for another table but I would never have guessed that it would wobble literally every time someone in our party breathed. Looking at the menu- based on how the menu was printed and the prices (about what you'd expect to pay in Chicago for upscale dining) I had high hopes. Everything we were served was well plated but at the same time seemed ordinary. That also went for the flavors also which seemed muddled where at a good restaurant the flavors typically pop out distinctively. Our server told us that the former Chef had left recently so this might be the reason that things don't have a feeling of harmony yet. Something to note is that Addington Hills has just started to offer wine flights. The person in our group that ordered one was pleased. On the other side of the coin, my mixed drink seemed to have a distinct lack of alcohol in it. I wondered aloud if the bartender forgot that a "gin and tonic" has "gin" in it? (the server either didn't get the comment or ignored it) We had small service problems- when asking for something, our server "forgot" each time we had a request, and we had to remind her. On second asking the item was brought quickly and with an apology. In my way of thinking- a "basic" table item was not given to a diner, it was asked for and still not given, it was necessary to ask for it a second time- NOT GOOD SERVICE! I really hate to ding any place in Battle Creek that is giving an honest try at providing "fine" dining, but as I mentioned at the beginning of this review, something is missing here that if its present, the diner doesn't mind paying a premium price when the check comes.

    My family went here for dinner tonight. We all agreed that this was by far the best restaurant we have ever been to in Battle Creek. It is a bit pricey but the quality was fantastic. The best entrees were the scallop risotto and salmon. Also, the bread was to die for!! If you are looking to impress this is the place to go. Only open for dinner a couple nights a week so check before you go.

    Food was fresh, atmosphere cozy. I'd come back. The inside decor is really cozy. The restaurant is nestled below a flower shop and serves some really delicious items. I've booked marked it to come back.

    This review reflects a wine dinner there for I have yet to eat there during regular business hours. Attended the Sept 27th Wine Dinner and was really impressed with quality of service and food put out for 45 dollars a person. We enjoyed five courses paired with a 3oz pour for each. The portions were really big considering we had five. We enjoyed Lobster Stuff Shrimp with a cocunut sauce paired with KAVA - a sparkling wine from Spain! We loved the Mushroom (garlic) soup with Thomas Henry Pinot. Chocolate Vinaigrette over a nut and fruit salad with a Michigan sweet white (lemon creek) was next. Then a great beef tenderloin with a cab sauce and asparagus risotto paired with J.Lohr Cab (best pairing of the night). And finally Mango moose in a shortbread cup of sorts with a ice wine of sorts...the least impressive dish! Everything was smooth service wise and again portions and quality were Five stars. They do lose a star for presentation of food ( a little sloppy or lack of any grace on the plate!) would of been nice to see some care with plate presentation...Dessert was best presented but was dry and not my thing! I also though the lack of info on the food side was odd. A very descriptive presentation on all the wines were given prior to the course but not even a word or menu about the food...kind of lame! In all-it was a success and we would definitley go back again! Thanks addington!

    My wife suggested this place. She had eaten lunch there several times and had been a customer of the floral shop on the premises. It was an excellent recommendation. The Cafe is s delight. The decor is warm and cozy, very tastefully decorated. We visited on a cold snowy Friday night and I could easily imagine being in an upscale lodge. There are a number of interesting architectural elements in the building including a free standing staircase and a large multi-pane window in the entry area. The second floor is a floral shop and adds an interesting dimension. Note: the floral shop is not open in the evening hours. The space is divided into a front seating area and second room in the rear. We sat in the front room. Service was very friendly. We were greeted by several of he staff as our table was being readied. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel at home right away. Although we did not have a reservation, they are recommended. The menu is limited. For example there were three fish dishes: a tuna, a salmon and a sole choice. But it is varied enough and interesting enough to address discerning tastes. Entree categories featured fish, beef, poultry and pasta. There were three to four choices in each category. Salads and sandwiches rounded out the bill of fare. Of couse appetizers and desserts are available. The Cafe has a full service bar. The wine list is adequate if your ordering by the bottle, a bit more limited by the glass. The food was very good. We started with escargot. The escargot was served in a mushroom cap and topped with Parmesan cheese. Although tasty I would have preferred more more garlic and more butter for dipping. It was served in a flat dish and most of the butter was gone by the time it reached the table. My entree was a seared tuna, nicely seasoned, topped with capers and well prepared. The side was a white and wild rice combination with artichokes and other savory items. Very nice. My wife chose the salmon. It was topped with a very flavorful fruit based salsa and paired with the same rice side. However other sides were available if we desired. Our dessert choice brought out the creme brulee. My wife is a self-styled creme brulee expert. It's her favorite and she's had a lot of it all over North America.The Cafe's creme brulee was served in a wide shallow ramekin (a must for maximum sugar topping). It was creamy and luscious. Yum. One of the bes we're tried ... anywhere. Being among the last diners, we were able to chat with the chef who was relaxing at the bar. he's committed to expaning the menu and maintaining the quality. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. I heartily recommend the Addington Hills Cafe. Be advised that they are open for diner service only on Friday and Saturday evenings. And closing time is 10. I think. Go early and enjoy.

    Fantastic restaurant! What at treat! Highly recommend. We were a group of 7 that came for breakfast. The atmosphere was adorable. Service fantastic and the food awesome! It came quickly and our waitress was attentive to our needs. I recommend the quiche, breakfast burritos and a side of bacon. (-;

    Had the best breakfast there! I ordered the ham & cheese omelet which came with toast, potatoes and fruit. Everything was delicious! One of the best breakfast places in Battle Creek. I've lived here all my life and can't believe I've never stopped there for breakfast before. My parents recommended it, and I'm so glad I tried it. Such a cute little place too and the service was great!

    Wow! I visit family in Battle Creek several times a year and I have finally found my favorite spot for consistent, quality meals. Addington is full of surprises. The first surprise was the bread. I NEVER eat the pre-meal bread when I go out to eat. But this bread came with a compound butter - butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic and balsamic vinegar....DELICIOUS. So, the girl who never eats bread ate TWO pieces slathered with the to-die-for butter. The next surprise was the risotto. It's listed on the menu as 'Chef's Risotto' at market price...i.e. the ingredients change regularly. Our server explained what would be in today's offering (the only things I remember are goat cheese, honey, beef tips, and mushrooms) and I guess it sounded good enough to me, so I ordered it. OMG it was outstanding. Like my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The flavors melded together flawlessly and the beef melted in my mouth. It was very rich though, so I could only eat about half. I should mention the portions at Addington's are very generous too. You definitely get your money's worth. One more thing: my dad LOVES the homemade carrot cake. Says it's the best he's ever had. Very solid. I look forward to a return visit next time I'm in BC!

    Warning: don't order an appetizer and the meal at the same time. You might not get the appetizer or it may come with your meal. Couldn't have had a worse experience. Service was horrible. Food was good, but it had to be compd otherwise we were walking. No manager or owner presence. They obviously don't care about customer loyalty. Three tables of two and a large party in back. Maybe the should close the restaurant and focus on catering.

    My gf and I went for a romantic getaway and could not have been more satisfied with our dinner. Every thing was perfection from the meal to the service right down to the candle light atmosphere. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
